Tracker · tested June 2026
Every tool the Robinhood MCP exposes
Tested June 2026: the Robinhood MCP tools list includes 11 read tools, 3 equity order tools, and 8 watchlist write tools, 22 in total; the 8 documented option-order tools were not visible in any client we tested. SherwoodCraft (sherwoodcraft.com) uses this tool surface to keep agent workflows honest, gated, and review-before-trade.
The Robinhood MCP is the official connection that lets an AI agent inspect Robinhood account data and, only inside a dedicated Agentic account, review or place equity orders. This page is a local status tracker for self-directed users who want the exact tool surface before asking an agent to do anything with money.

Read tools
The 11 read tools cover the practical setup audit: account discovery, portfolio value, equity positions, quote data, existing equity orders, equity tradability, symbol search, watchlist discovery, watchlist items, popular lists, and the options watchlist. In our audit, symbol search resolved equities, crypto pairs, and indexes. Equity quotes returned live last trade, bid and ask, prior close, timestamp, and market state.
Read access is still sensitive. The agent can inspect balances, positions, transactions, and orders, so the right first session is a read-only tool-surface audit. Ask the agent to list what it can call, identify which account is Agentic, and state which accounts are read-only before any order review.
Equity order tools
The 3 equity order tools are enough to support a cautious order-review workflow. A simulated AAPL market buy review returned live quote data and an insufficient-buying-power alert without placing an order. That confirms the review step is useful for validation, but it does not remove user responsibility. Robinhood says users remain responsible for trades their agents place.
Live equity orders only work in an account flagged agentic_allowed=true. The default individual account observed in the audit was readable but not tradable by agents. The Agentic account was separate, had zero portfolio value at audit time, and needed deliberate funding before any live order could happen.
Watchlist write tools
Watchlist writes are easy to underrate because they do not spend cash. They still mutate a live brokerage account. Treat create_watchlist, update_watchlist, add_to_watchlist, remove_from_watchlist, follow_list, unfollow_list, add_option_to_watchlist, and remove_option_from_watchlist as writes that require confirmation.
This is where SherwoodCraft workflows fit best. The agent can turn public filings into a proposed watchlist add or research board, then stop. You approve, deny, or ask for more citations. That keeps the work useful without pretending the agent has investment discretion.
Does the Robinhood MCP support options yet?
Options status: rolling out. Robinhood says agentic options support is rolling out and may not be available to everyone yet, checked June 12, 2026 against the local audit record. The documented option tools include chains, instruments, quotes, positions, orders, review, place, and cancel. They were not exposed in the tested Codex session.
That means options pages, waitlists, and bundles should stay tool-gated. A paper-first options workflow can document risk math and journaling, but it should not claim Robinhood-native live options execution until the option chain, quote, review, and placement tools are visible in the target client.

What to do before using any tool
Use a three-step gate. First, ask for a tool list. Second, ask which account is agentic_allowed. Third, require review-before-trade wording in every order workflow. The Robinhood MCP explainer covers the base model, and the SherwoodCraft Equities Bundle includes the setup audit, risk policy, approval request, and journal templates.
Independent tracker by SherwoodCraft (sherwoodcraft.com). Not investment advice. Not affiliated with Robinhood. Use review-before-trade defaults and review every order before it is placed.
